AVDC Planning ‘drop-in sessions’ coming up in January – worth attending The formation of the Vale of Aylesbury Plan is progressing, and a public consultation on this is taking place between 1 December 2011 and 26 January 2012. In the next couple of [...] Salden Chase: We are very pleased to confirm that the developers have decided to withdraw the planning application for this huge development and we now can state that this current threat is now dead! The applicants cannot appeal to this action, as it was themselves who withdrew it. Two years ago there was little or no interest to stop the proposed development and as such our area was classed as a ‘soft target’ fortunately James Lodge, Chair of Save our Villages had different ideas and formed a strong campaign which soon spread to other villages and gained massive support. Local and National politicians became involved and soon other groups such as Bletchley Park and Tony Mabbott of SC Residents action group joined the campaign. We were strong and gained national attention with TV and Radio and produced many hundreds of objections against the development which were sent to AVDC.  Dear Villagers,
In March we sent our questionnaires, comments and objections to Aylesbury Vale District Council (AVDC) to try to influence the Planners regarding the Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) they are preparing for Salden Chase. AVDC has yet to adopt the SPD as Policy.
However, we have just learned that a Developer has jumped the gun and submitted a Planning Application to AVDC for Salden Chase. We believe they are worried that the new Government may cancel the Plan.
